Genealogy

About 1962, my grandfather Wilhelm Ferdinand Haake (1895-1972) was the man who brought me up to genealogy. He was able to stir up my lasting interest in this wonderful hobby.

Between 1976 and 1985, I mainly was working on my Family Tree (only in German). The listed locations are explained in the location list (German).

Since the second half of the 1980's I started with my research of descendants. Now I am working on the descendants of seven selected ancestors of mine who have been living about 200 years ago. An eighth list deals with the Lehmku(e)hler descendants who are living in the U.S.

Available:

  • Lehmkühler Descendants (Germany) (German only)
  • Lehmku(e)hler Descendants (USA)
  • Haake Descendants (German only)
  • Harbott Descendants (German only)
  • Krumme Descendants (German only)
  • Rau(h)(e) Descendants (German only)
  • Weeke Descendants (German only)
  • Wünderich Descendants (German only)

I have converted some of my handwritten excerpts from parish records to text files for the internet.

    Available so far:

  • Opherdicke (Roman Catholic), Lehmkühler records in Latin and German from the XVIII. and early XIX. centuries. Opherdicke is today part of Holzwickede Kreis Unna in Westphalia.
  • Aplerbeck (Lutheran), records in Latin and German concerning the Lehmkühler, Wünderich, Weeke, Harbott, Krumme families and the relatives from the XVIII. and XIX. centuries. Aplerbeck is today part of the city of Dortmund.
  • Politzig (Lutheran), Rau(h)(e) records in German from the XVIII. and XIX. centuries. Politzig Kreis Meseritz was located in the Prussian "Provinz Posen" and became part of East Brandenburg in 1920. Since 1945, it is Policko in Poland.

There is a mystery concerning the genealogy of our family. You can find the details here. Any hint or advice is highly appreciated.

I am member of the genealogical society "Roland zu Dortmund", of "Westfälische Gesellschaft für Genealogie und Familienforschung" (Münster) and of "Westdeutsche Gesellschaft für Familienkunde" (Köln). Since 1997, I am working on genealogical problems of some Germans from Russia. About 2'500 of them have come to Wertheim within the last 20 years.
